proudly opened its doors in the spring of 2005.

We are a friendly neighbourhood restaurant offering slow-cooked, HOMEMADE FOOD, and PIZZAS made the old fashioned way. We support LOCAL FARMERS by featuring as much of their NATURALLY RAISED or ORGANIC meats, vegetables, and dairy as possible. We also support those of you who are gluten intolerant by making our entire menu available GLUTEN-FREE (except spring rolls). Our gluten-free pizza is such a hit, that we have customers driving across the province for it!

Our historic Victorian in Cabbagetown has a cozy DINING ROOM (complete with chandeliers and a fireplace), charming front and back PATIOS, and a large LOUNGE upstairs. We also accommodate those who like to eat at home by DELIVERING OUR ENTIRE MENU every day. If you fancy a PARTY, just call us to arrange it. We'll host it for you at the restaurant or provide CATERING for an alternate venue.

We are pleased to serve DINNER 7 DAYS A WEEK.

Roasted Root Ragout @ Big Mamma's Boy
Michael Guenther

Taking its inspiration from locally sourced seasonal produce, this hearty veggie stew feature beets, parsnips, turnips, carrots and onions in a piquant tomato sauce kicked with Ukrainian paprika, and comes sided with brown basmati rice, arugula tossed in a maple-balsamic vinaigrette, toasted My Market Bakery sourdough and a dollop of low-fat sour cream. Available nightly 4:30 to 11pm.

"February's such a depressing time of year," explains Big Mamma's Michael Guenther when asked how he came up with a dish that not only showcases the roasted vegetables' naturally sweet flavours but their vibrant colours as well. "Think of it as a delicious way to cure the winter blues."
